Our GrowinBag™ grow bag was developed to address one of the fundamental limitations of conventional containers: when roots reach the wall of a rigid pot, they have nowhere to go but around.
Its woven HDPE structure creates a different root environment. Light and air reach the root zone at the container wall, encouraging natural pruning rather than continued circling. The result is a denser, more fibrous root system.
Designed specifically for nurseries, tree farms and professional growers, our GrowinBag™ combines root development with the practical demands of commercial production.

Once they reach that physical limit, they begin to follow the wall, creating the spiralling root systems associated with root-bound plants.
The GrowinBag™ grow bag uses woven fabric rather than a rigid wall.
When a root reaches the edge of the container, exposure to light naturally limits further extension and encourages the plant to produce new roots. The original root continues to support the plant with nutrients and water.
This natural light pruning promotes a more fibrous root ball without the root circling associated with conventional containers. Commercial growers report more fibrous root systems, thicker tree girth and quicker time to maturity.
The material was selected following extensive testing in nursery and outdoor conditions. The fabric, handles and stitching are UV treated to extend performance in demanding environments.
The current technical specification confirms HDPE construction, lamination and UV treatment, with tensile strength of 52 kg in the warp and 60 kg in the weft.
The woven construction also changes the thermal environment around the roots. Traditional black plastic pots can become extremely hot in direct sun, transferring heat through their thick walls to roots positioned against the container. The thin woven structure of the GrowinBag™ bag avoids the same thick-wall heat transfer while allowing airflow around the root zone.
Heavy-duty integrated handles allow smaller sizes to be lifted manually. Larger containers can be handled using appropriate lifting equipment, while extra-large configurations use four handles that extend around the base of the bag to support the weight of the filled container and tree.
The containers are designed to be lifted vertically without tearing or ripping.
For commercial operators, this provides a practical way to move plants and trees through production, loading and transport.
The difference becomes significant at scale.
A 40-foot shipping container can hold approximately 2,000 15-gallon traditional pots with handles, or 4,400 without handles. The same container can hold approximately 200,000 15-gallon GrowinBag™ containers with handles.
For growers and nurseries purchasing and transporting containers at scale, this can significantly reduce the space required for shipping and storage.
The GrowinBag™ grow bag allows plants and trees to be grown above ground where existing soil conditions are unsuitable for in-ground production. Growers can instead control the growing medium and the conditions around each plant.
Our GrowinBag™ grow bag is used in demanding environments across the globe.
Above-ground production can also allow growers to make productive use of areas that would otherwise be unsuitable for cultivation.
Traditional field-grown trees may be removed using a tree spade, with the root system then wrapped, secured and handled several times during transport and planting.
With the GrowinBag™ grow bag, the tree remains in its growing container while it is transported.
The integrated handles allow the container to be lifted onto transport and moved into position at the destination. The bag can then be opened or cut away while supporting the root ball.
Keeping the tree in its container throughout the process is intended to reduce the handling and disturbance associated with conventional tree removal and transplanting.
The material is bio-stable, does not degrade or leach microplastics, and is naturally resistant to mould and highly resistant to bacteria.
The fabric, handles and stitching are UV treated, with the construction developed for demanding outdoor environments.
GrowinBag™ containers are designed for multiple growing cycles when properly handled, and HDPE is recyclable.
GrowinBag™ containers were developed to address those realities at the container level, starting with the root system and extending through production, movement and planting.
The system is designed for professional horticultural operations including nurseries, tree farms, citrus production and blueberry production, particularly where root development, container handling, transport and control of growing conditions are significant considerations.

Current specifications are taken from the 2026 Certificate of Analysis.
The woven fabric allows light and air to reach the container wall. When roots reach the edge of the container, exposure to light naturally limits further extension and encourages new root growth.
This promotes a more fibrous root system and helps prevent the spiralling commonly associated with conventional containers.
The combination of virgin HDPE woven construction, UV treatment, natural root pruning and an integrated heavy-duty handling system.
The manufacturer states that the company was the first to design and manufacture HDPE grow bags with handles, and that the design has continued to evolve through feedback from growers and nurseries.
